Innovation & patents

Local challenges. Protected innovation. Practical solutions.

Eco Green turns locally available organic materials into fertilizer through controlled fermentation. Two Ethiopian patent records cover that work. Below they are shown exactly as the Ethiopian Intellectual Property Authority published them.

A patent record is not a product listing.

How we work

  • 01

    Start from local problems

Research began in 2007 on a durable alternative to chemical fertilizers — aimed at soil health and food security, not just a season’s green.

  • 02

    Protect the method

The preparation method is part of the invention recorded in ET UM1073B1. We explain what the inventions are for without publishing anything beyond what the public record already contains.

  • 03

    Let others test it

Universities and research institutes have run their own field trials of Eco Green and published the results, including where the response levelled off.

6 independent field trials, published

Barley, malt barley, wheat and hot pepper, tested by Ethiopian universities and research institutes. Every figure links to the paper.
